Cursebound Princess Statue – Heir to the Living Curse

Once heir to a forgotten realm, she now walks beneath the weight of a power that has changed her completely. Arcane corruption burns across her body in luminous patterns, spreading over skin, armour and cloth while vast wing-like manifestations rise behind her. She advances through the shattered remains of an ancient portal carrying an enormous ritual weapon, appearing caught somewhere between royalty, sorcery and transformation.

Created by Sultry Miniatures, Cursebound Princess is a dark fantasy display piece built around the idea of a human figure being overtaken by something supernatural.

The character remains recognisably human, but the curse has begun to reshape her. Bright organic markings trace across her limbs and torso, while similar forms emerge around her shoulders and head. Rather than presenting her as a conventional demon, the sculpt leaves open the possibility that the wings and corruption are manifestations of the same magic consuming her.

That ambiguity gives the piece much of its appeal. The large ruined portal behind her establishes the setting immediately. Broken columns, fractured stone and carved arcane symbols frame the character while giving the display considerably more depth than a simple scenic base. The wing-like forms extend well beyond the portal, widening the silhouette and making the figure feel larger than its nominal 120mm scale.

Her weapon provides another major focal point. The oversized curved blade combines mechanical, ritual and arcane design elements, with inset details that can easily be tied into the same luminous palette as the corruption across the figure. Painters can therefore connect character, weapon and environment through repeated colour and lighting effects.

The contrast between surfaces is especially strong. Smooth exposed skin sits beside glowing supernatural growths, dark fabric, hard-edged weapon components and heavily weathered stone. This gives painters several distinct textures to work across without the model feeling visually fragmented.

The display offers exceptional opportunities for:

  • Glowing magical corruption
  • Object-source lighting
  • Arcane energy effects
  • Dark fantasy skin tones
  • High-contrast edge highlighting
  • Wing membrane effects
  • Flowing fabric
  • Large weapon detailing
  • Stone and ruined architecture
  • Magical runes and carved symbols
  • Weathering and environmental staining
  • Dramatic display photography
  • Competition-style showcase painting

The colour palette can radically change the character of the finished piece.

Magenta, violet and crimson can push the transformation toward demonic or forbidden magic, while blues, greens or spectral tones can make the curse feel more arcane or otherworldly. The portal can either echo those colours or remain deliberately muted to place all visual attention on the central figure.

At 120mm scale, the character measures approximately 120mm from head to toe. Because of the large portal, extended wings and substantial scenic base, the complete assembled statue occupies considerably more space than a conventional 120mm character model.

As a finished composition, Cursebound Princess is less about depicting a monster than capturing a moment of transformation. She still carries herself like royalty. Whether the power surrounding her is a curse, a weapon, or something she has finally learned to control is left to the viewer.
