Ardentia High Cleric – Guardian of Ironhold
High above the lowlands, where narrow mountain roads wind through cold stone and ancient passes, Ardentia keeps watch over Ironhold.
A High Cleric entrusted with the defence of the remote monastery stronghold, she carries the authority of both spiritual leader and seasoned guardian. Her presence is disciplined rather than theatrical—calm, resolute and entirely suited to someone charged with protecting an isolated place of faith from whatever may emerge beyond its walls.
This standalone sculpt by DartArt3D focuses entirely on Ardentia herself.
Her silhouette is built around strong vertical lines. The long ceremonial robes fall almost to the ground, framed by a heavy blue cloak that broadens the figure without overwhelming it, while the large warhammer rises alongside her and gives the composition a second structural anchor.
The armour provides the strongest visual contrast. Layered plates cover the torso and shoulders, combining smooth metallic surfaces with raised ornamental details, heraldic motifs and decorative edging. Across the breastplate, a prominent winged emblem immediately establishes her religious and martial identity, while smaller symbols and hanging tabards continue that visual language further down the figure.
Beneath the armour, the softer robes create broad uninterrupted surfaces that are particularly well suited to glazing, controlled shading and subtle transitions. The contrast between rigid plate, flowing cloth, leather details and the wooden hammer shaft gives painters several clearly differentiated materials to work with.
Her face remains deliberately composed. Rather than depicting Ardentia in the middle of combat, the sculpt presents her as a guardian at rest—alert, confident and prepared. This restraint makes portrait work especially important, allowing careful skin transitions, eye definition and subtle expression to become a focal point rather than competing with an aggressive pose.
The sculpt offers excellent opportunities for:
- Polished steel, cold iron or NMM armour
- Gold and brass ornamental detailing
- Layered cream, ivory or ecclesiastical robes
- Deep blue, crimson or dark neutral cloak treatments
- Heraldic freehand and religious iconography
- Smooth female portrait and skin painting
- Wood grain across the long hammer shaft
- Leather straps, belts and hanging details
- Controlled edge highlighting across armour plates
- Directional lighting and dramatic display photography
Ardentia is particularly well suited to painters who enjoy combining restrained colour palettes with strong material contrast. Cool steel armour, warm gold accents, pale robes and a deep blue cloak create a naturally balanced scheme, while the large fabric areas also leave plenty of room for more personalised interpretations.
The 150mm scale gives the sculpt enough physical presence to make those smaller details matter. Armour trim, facial features, cloth folds and heraldic elements all have sufficient surface area for advanced painting techniques without pushing the figure into oversized statue territory.
For collectors who prefer a larger narrative presentation, Ardentia is also available separately in the Ardentia & Ironhold framed display, where she stands before the fortified mountain monastery she is sworn to protect.
As a standalone piece, however, the focus remains entirely on the character: a High Cleric defined by discipline, faith and the quiet authority of a guardian who has no intention of yielding her post.
